Summer Highlights and Lowlights

 Lowlight:  Still wading around in our teeny tiny kiddie pool.

Highlight:  Having friends over all day while Jason and his friend worked on our new playscape.

Lowlight for Rock:  Having Lily sit on his lap while watching a movie.  They all wanted to be on the chair!

 Highlight for Lily:  Capturing Jason in action as he built the playset.

 Lowlight:  Giving up a whole Saturday to put the set together.  Jason even worked into the wee hours of the morning finishing up the roof.

Highlight:  Finished!  It has definitely paid for itself this summer.

 

Highlight for Lily:  Finding a girl the perfect size to actually do a teeter totter!

 Highlight for me:  Seeing Lily running around with her cousins with chocolate all over her face and nose and no one even cared.

 Lowlight:  Lily put a lot of tiny rubberbands around her ankles while "watching" a movie and screamed out to Jason that it was hurting.  He said her feet were purple and he had to cut them off because he couldn't get them off with his hands.  What a scare!

 Highlight:  Watching ants carry away a graham cracker.

 Highlight:  Otter pops on the back porch in diapers.

 Highlight:  New underwear!  She slept with them the first night.

 Highlight:  Turning the piano bench into a bed and a boat.

 Highlight:  Climbing into the toy boxes.

Lowlight:  Getting rugburn while playing on the stairs.  She wanted a band aid on her stomach to make it feel better.

 Lowlight:  Getting bit by a mosquito near her eye.  She wanted two band aids above it to make it feel better.

Highlight:  Grace wanted band aids above her eye to be like Lily.

 Highlight:  Grace.  Cutest personality ever!

 Highlight:  Sticking princess dresses on your fingers.  Not sure her motives on this one.

 Highlight:  Laying on the grass with your sister.

 Lowlight:  Her poor eye.  After getting bit by a mosquito, a couple days later she bonked into a neighbor on their trampoline and came home with a black eye.

 Highlight:  Inviting friends over to wade in our kiddie pool.

 Lowlight for Grace:  Having a sister who takes from your bowl.  2 for me, 1 for you...

 Highlight:  One of Jason's co workers gave us these anywhere chairs.  The girls LOVE them.  I often find them reading next to each other in them.

 Like this.  Just getting ready for church.  No rush, Lily, and I like your tie!

 Highlight for the girls, Lowlight for me:  Lily found these stickery balls while we've been clearing out an area of the backyard for grass.  She thought it was a great idea to cover herself and Grace in them.

Hair, shirt, everything.

Highlight for Jason and Me:  Looking out the window to see Lily riding her tricycle like this.  Oh, I needed a good laugh that day.

Highlight:  Chasing chickens at cousin Laura's.  Grace and I were happy to stay on the sidelines.  Lily caught one of the chickens by the tail and wouldn't let go.  She's a turkey sometimes.  Karma made up for it, though.  We recently visited a park with different animals and a chicken grabbed onto her finger and wouldn't let go.  No blood luckily.  Just some tears and a desire to sit a bit further away from the fence.

Highlight:  Plastic bag capes.  Lily recycled her idea from a couple years ago and shared it with Grace.
