Chili cook-off

I'll be honest. Ward actvities have always been hard for me to go to. Maybe it's genetic because my mom has been the same way all her life, but the sweetest lady asked me to help out at this year's halloween party, and I knew if I was the ward activities coordinator I would be a basket case, so I agreed. And you know what...it turned out to be just awful. Not really. It was so fun. I think getting there is half the battle, but once you're there you get sucked into the activities and you find friends and you end up loving your ward family even more. Jason was studying so I took my $5 Goodwill witch's hat and my $2 Stop & Shop pumpkin earrings and my homemade crockpot chili to enter in the chili cook off contest all by myself.
Jason gave me the "thumbs up" on the chili before leaving...the judges didn't agree, though. Maybe next year.

What? You didn't win the chili cook-off??? I bet that competition was rigged! I’d call for a re-do if I was you. I’ll be a guest judge if you want. Ash, love the hat and earrings--are too fun.

Even if you didn't win the cook-off, at least you looked super stylish and festive in your witch's hat!

I hope you washed that hat before you wore it. Hats from those places are crawling with who know's what. Why do witches wear name tags? So they can tell which witch is which. Just a little halloween humor for you.

Ash, I am so impressed! I too usually have have major reservations about going to ward activities...basically dread them. So I can't believe you dressed up, made chili, AND went by yourself. I am so proud of you!!
