New Interest

Are any of you like me? I buy something, thinking it will be my new "thing." Like soy milkshakes! I bought this probably six months ago, and it is still in the box.
Or what about the time I learned how to make jam. I knew I was going to be making jam and cutting vegetables almost daily. So, I bought a food processor thinking it was an absolute necessity. I can count on one hand the number of times I've used my "necessity."
What about my sewing machine? This little beauty I bought 7 years ago after a Relief Society activity where I fell in love with sewing. A friend of mine began teaching me how to make pajama pants, and 7 years later those pajama pants have yet to be finished:)

But this time is for real. I've rekindled my interest in sewing enough to take a class with an instructor from the island of Malta whom anyone would fall in love with just meeting her. Her accent is charming, she is truly without guile, all she wants is to share her love of sewing and she'll even drive an hour to teach us, bring her own sewing machines, call us to tell us what we need to bring, and my Fridays will never be the same (at least for the next 2 months). I think I'm learning about sewing and about Christlike love.
When I showed her my first project pictured above (pivoting corners on a piece of paper) she said, "Excellent." Look at those relatively straight lines on my felt, and the plaid project, my friends, is the beginning of a pillow that we learned how to do on our first day.
Today was president's day so I didn't have to go to work. I decided to make a pillow on my own! I think it perks up our chair that we got from the church's mother's lounge. (Jason was astute enough to notice the milk stains on the chair and clean them off. I didn't realize that's what the white spots were.)
