Gardening

Dream garden...
Our garden...

Well, maybe I shouldn't say "our" garden. It's actually my agency's garden. We rented the two plots from the city with the purpose of engaging our families and their children in gardening, but it hasn't worked out that way, and I've fallen in love with the two pathetic plots and didn't realize how much I enjoy watering and pulling weeds. Jason even provided some free manual labor on the 4th of July to help me weed and mulch it. I wish I had a before and after picture because the crab grass was crowding in our little plants. We are growing squash, cucumbers, beans, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, and chard. Yummy! I'm hopeful that next year we can rent a couple plots of our own. The picture at the top is of a fellow gardener's who gave me lots of tips that I will hopefully use for next year...peat moss, mulch, rocks out of the dirt.

Ashlee, this is so cool!! I'm glad that you like potting and gardening. You need to come teach me how to do it!

Wow Ashlee, how do you have time for the New York lifestyle and garden?!
